Measures to assist companies and businesses affected by coronavirus

In the context of the measures taken by the government to support companies / businesses affected by the restrictive measures imposed to limit the spread of coronavirus, the Department of Registrar of Companies announces the following:

4th companies’ compliance campaign for filings of due annual returns:

1.Suspension of publications in the Official Government Gazette for the de-registration/de-listing of non-compliant companies from the Registry. This is suspended until January 2021.

2.Payment of annual levy €350

Payment of the annual levy for the year 2020 is extended up to the 31 December 2020 without the imposition of any penalties (i.e. 10% and 30%).

3. Late submission of documents with the Registrar:

In cooperation with the House of Representatives, the imposition of monetary charges for late filings of statutory forms will be deferred to 2021.

4.Submission of 2020 annual return:

Annual returns with editorial dates from the 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2020 may be submitted with the Registrar until the 28/01/2021, without the €20 penalty imposed for late filing.

Due to adjustments that need to be made with the Registrar’s system, it is recommended that companies intending to submit the annual return for 2020 await until a further additional announcement is made by the Department.
